work

Well, tomorrow is my 1st day back at work. It's always hard to jump right back in and.......I think the hardest part is to wake up at 5:00 a.m. I really can't complain too much though; I've had the best summer ever. Great weather, lots of camping and of course, our big trip to Arkansas.........fabulous memories. Oh well, time marches on and so does "making a living". Gotta make some $ for future vacations :)

Birthday thoughts

So, it's official. I am 60 years old! Do I feel older? Not really--although some days there are a few more aches and pains around. In my mind, I feel pretty alive and up-to-date on a lot of things. Who would have known that I could blog??!! It's good to surround yourself with family and friends; it helps with your outlook on life too, I think. I feel very blessed to have a great, loving husband of 38 years, my daughter, Heather and her husband John, my son , Sean and his wife Tabitha and of course, my precious grandson, Brayden. My life is great! So here's to many more happy years.........Happy Birthday to me! :)

Our Arkansas summer 2010

Here are some more of my favorite pictures.....especially the one with Brayden & PopPops making "the face"!

Our Arkansas summer 2010

What a great time we had during our vacation! We babysat (actually, we were entertained and amused by one very happy boy), enjoyed and a/c'd home, watched swimming lessons, ate out a lot (yum, barbeque!) and even enjoyed a wonderful cookout at Tab's parent's home.......we had delicious homemade ice cream and "yellow" watermelon! A big thank you to them for their hospitality; also, a big thank you to Troy's Mom for providing fresh garden tomatoes--ours were still green when we left RI and hers were sooo delicious :) Jim & I even ventured out and found our way to and from WalMart...quite an accomplishment for us.

Yay I'm finally getting out of this pool!

It's not so bad

Christmas in July

Well, Jim is at his first party now at an insurance company's picnic. I'm sure he's having a ball. They are providing him with a tent and microphone. Watch out.....here comes Santa!!

Tonight we're leaving for NH. It will be our first campground party. Sooo much to pack! We haven't gone camping in weeks so I'm really looking forward to this trip. It will be a short one though, we'll be back on Sunday. I hope to try to put some pictures up when we get back (provided I can figure it out--not too much luck with video).

Going to finish packing...............Christmas, here we come!!!!!!!!!!

Family

Heather has started researching our family tree. She's done an amazing job so far. She did make the mistake of sending me a link--now I'm starting to get a little obsessed with finding info out about the past. It's very addicting and time flies by before you realize that you've spent over an hour just researching..........oh well, it's not a bad way to spend a hot, lazy afternoon!!!

Getting ready for the Arkansas heat!

So, here we are engulfed in a heat wave. It's already 94 degrees this morning with wicked humidity! I guess we're in training to be able to deal with the heat in Arkansas later this month. Brayden, have your wacky sprinkler ready.......here we come.........

Phew!!

Boy, is it ever hot and humid. Guess we're in training for our trip to Arkansas later in July :) I think it may be time for me to put the a/c on in the bedroom and go hide there for a while!

Anniversary

Last week, Jim & I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. Quite an accomplishment in this day and age, I guess. Being married that long involves a lot of hard work and a lot of love. It's not always easy, but always an adventure. Our daughter, Heather and her husband John and our son, Sean and his wife Tabitha, have each been married 3 years. They are both lucky to have found someone so special in their lives. Hang on for the ride of your lives....................

Here we go...............

I have been encouraged (by my children) to start a blog. My daughter-in-law, Tabitha, is a "professional" blogger and I hope I can live up to such high standards. She assures me often that I can do this. Here goes.........when our son Sean married Tabitha, they settled down in Arkansas - quite a distance from little Rhody. In order to keep in touch regularly, they created a blog. Now we have a beautiful grandson, Brayden, and Sean & Tab keep us updated regularly on his accomplishments. I'm determined to try to keep updates on what is going on here. Wish me luck!
